Em is a scenic designer with a B.F.A in Theatre Arts and Psychology from Lawrence University and an M.F.A in Scenic Design from the University of Washington, Seattle. Their love of travel has led them to work with theaters on both coasts and in the Midwest. Em has found a passion for reenvisioning classic works as well as collaborating on new works and is drawn towards pieces that address issues of inequality, social justice, and feminism. As a firm believer in theatre’s ability to truthfully depict the human condition and give voice to people’s stories she values how each play, art piece, and project has an opportunity to express something unique and meaningful. She loves the challenge of change, knowing each artistic process is a singular and unrepeatable experience. Em’s most recent designs include MacBeth, The Pirates of Penzance, and Perfect Wedding at University of WI - Whitewater, the ‘22 Summer season at Ghostlight Theater Camp Oakland, ME, and Stew at Milwaukee Chamber Theater. Her thesis show Cabaret at the University of Washington was unfortunately canceled due to Covid-19. Past credits include Romeo and Jules and Incident at Vichy at the University of Washington, We Go Mad at 18th and Union, Seattle, and Dracula vs. The Nazis at In Tandem Theater, Milwaukee, WI.
